😴 Why are naps so important? 💤 A dog’s emotional cup can get filled by lots of things - good and bad. A little bit like us, if our cup is filled up and we are getting overloaded, we can get a bit snappy! So to help our doggies have the best day and keep that cup from being overfilled, we build in a nap which helps them to reset 🥰 It can take an average of 6 sessions with us before they will nap, and it all comes down to the routine. We use our heated cabins, the blinds come down, calming music comes on, which gives them the best chance to settle down. Rating our delivery of enrichment toys 🤩 Up first - Grippy ball thing 🙌🏼 We loved this! We used meat strips to fill the gaps, and depending on how big the pieces are sticking out makes it easier or harder to get out. (Stats - easy version with full width strip took 5 minutes, half width strips, so barely anything sticking out, they were still going half an hour later! 🤩) Only reason it’s not a 10 is because it’s still a bit of a choking hazard, so best not leaving them with one 😊 Fillable chew toy Not so impressed with this. The doggies did seem to like it and it kept them busy for short periods of time but because it was actually quite hard to get anything out of it they lost interest quite quickly. Super hard to keep clean and they could also chew bits off. So ok for short periods, as long as they are closely monitored 🥰 Felt roll ball This was actually quite good, but only really with the older dogs that didn’t want to just sit and chew through all of the felt rolls 😅😂. Did keep them busy for a while though! Puzzle bowl This is different to our other puzzle bowls and was a little harder. They have to move a fair few pieces around to get to the treats and some just gave up and tried to bite the covers off 🙈😂. Still good for a more patient dog that likes puzzles! Short answer is… Nope! 🥰 Whilst dogs of all shapes and sizes are WELCOME, we ask the question, do they really enjoy it. 🫶🏼 We evaluate each dog individually to ensure they are COMFORTABLE and that their presence does not negatively impact the comfort of other dogs. 👩🏼‍🎓 We have an extremely knowledgeable and EXPERIENCED behaviourist monitoring our settling in sessions, so we will know if your dog is showing any signs of distress. 🐶 We will always take all available steps to HELP any distressed dogs, but in some cases, being surrounded by other doggies just isn’t for them! 👐🏼We are HONEST with everyone about how their sessions have gone, and if they didn’t like it, we will tell you. ❤️ Every single dog’s safety, happiness and comfort is our priority. 🤩 Some dogs can really benefit from daycare, and if introduced and monitored carefully, they can improve confidence and general behaviour around other dogs. The first is only half an hour, this allows the dogs to get used to the sights and sounds, and allows us to see how they interact with a small group of dogs. 🐾 If this goes well we then book them in for half a day, so we can monitor them and make sure they are comfortable. 🤩 If both go swimmingly, they are free to book as often as possible! BOTH SETTLING IN SESSIONS ARE FREE!! So there is nothing to lose, but a whole lot of happiness to gain 🥰🐶 Book on our open day to check us out!
